After Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar, Amazon launched a brand new Prime Video mobile-only subscription plan for customers in India. This annual plan aims to allow all customers in India to have “access to high quality entertainment exclusively on their mobile devices”. Amazon Launches Prime Video Mobile Edition: Prices, Options, Content
The new mobile-only Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition is a single-user annual subscription plan that delivers standard definition (SD) high quality streaming at a price of Rs 599. According to the corporate, customers will get access to all Prime Video options. Looks like X-Ray, powered by IMDb, and downloads for offline viewing with the Prime Video mobile version. Subscribers will have the ability to stream Indian and worldwide movies, Amazon Originals, live cricket, and even more, from their cell phones, along with the eagerly awaited upcoming India vs New Zealand men’s cricket collection in November 2022. For the unversed, Netflix also has a mobile-only plan that costs Rs 149 per 30 days. Disney Plus Hotstar alternatively, offers a mobile-only plan at Rs 49 per 30 days, Rs 199 for six months and Rs 499 per year.
According to the corporate, “Prime Video is expanding the reach of Prime Video Mobile Edition, which was launched last year as a telco-partner product in association with Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”).
Apart from the brand new plan, the streaming platform already offers three subscription plans. Month-to-month subscription is priced at Rs 179, a quarterly plan with a validity of 3 months is available for Rs 459 and an annual plan will cost Rs 1,499. Amazon Prime Video had increased the price of subscription plans in India in December last year.
