Media reported that the demand for fashion giant Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro has exceeded the capacity to supply the handset.
In a notice to buyers, financial institution UBS analyst David Vogt examined waiting opportunities for Apple’s Pro range of smartphones, using information that tracks iPhone availability in 30 countries, reports AppleInsider.
According to the report, the ready time for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max has increased from 5 to 25 days in the US.
UBS collected information prior to the current lockdown in China, which may have affected production.
Meanwhile, the Apple supply chain faced its later set of issues in China as panicked workers at the Foxconn manufacturing facility, which produced the brand new iPhone 14 collection in the city of Zhengzhou, recently died due to the COVID-19 scare. Beach was abandoned last week.
About 300,000 workers are employed in the factory in the capital of Henan province.
The improvement could slow production of Apple’s flagship devices in the coming months.
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo posted on Twitter that more than 10 percent of iPhone manufacturing capacity worldwide is currently affected as Foxconn’s Zhengzhou manufacturing facility suddenly entered closed-loop manufacturing without warning.
