One of the best-selling video game franchises of all time is finally getting an adaptation. Although not the only one. gears of War One film and one sequence will be available. Several production companies have been attempting to launch a venture since at least 2007, but apparently Netflix is the only one that has been successful. For some time, New Line Cinema owned the rights. Then, Universal was planning to provide a function movie in time for release. gears of war 4, That effort also stalled.
According to Netflix’s press launch, the service will “first adapt the video game saga into a live action feature film, followed by an adult animated series, with the potential for more stories to follow.” They’re partnering with sequel developer The Coalition on each. As of now, there is no exact cast or crew attached to both the film or the animated sequence that is currently in the production pipeline. That being mentioned, ever since Netflix came out and announced that there is variety in the works, it’s possible we’ll hear some news soon!
