CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) – Governor Ron DeSantis speaks to hundreds of supporters at a packhouse in Clearwater.
During his speech, he mentioned the policies he pursued during his last four years as governor.
Turning Point Action’s “Unite and Win” rally comes days before the midterm election. DeSantis also mobilized support for Anna Paulina Luna, a GOP fellow who is running for a competitive seat in Florida’s 13th congressional district.
The Governor remained adamant about the policies implemented while in office.
“We’ve set a vision on a range of issues, we’ve executed on that vision, we’ve delivered results, and now people have our backs,” DeSantis said.
He also cited controversial decisions made throughout his tenure – for example, moving about 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard.
“They only bother when they have 50 people in Martha’s Vineyard,” DeSantis said.
Concluding his speech tonight, DeSantis referred to his run for governor in 2018, which he won by a very narrow margin. However, the margin is looking very different compared to his 2018 run, showing DeSantis with a massive lead in the polls over his rival Charlie Crist.
The governor will be in the Tampa Bay area on Sunday and head south on Monday. He will be back in Tampa for election night.
