The power ministry on Monday amended the rules for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, allowing public charging stations to pay service charges with time of day and with exemptions for photo voltaic hours.
In addition, a committee under the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) will suggest the ceiling on service charges to be levied to the states.
The panel will also suggest the time of day for the service charges in addition to the reduced cost to be charged during photovoltaic hours.
The guidelines were issued in January this year with the aim of early adoption of electric vehicles and to offer cheaper tariffs to be charged to charging station operators and electric car owners.
