TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The long-running battle over Hillsborough County’s transportation surcharge continued on Election Day and the measure appeared on the ballot for voters despite ongoing legal challenges.
Backed by county commissioners and even the mayor of Tampa, the transportation tax has yet to fully win its battle in court, limiting the money collected to pay for it. Voters will be able to vote on a higher tax in the mid-term, but legal challenges remain.
