Election day is underway in New York City in the 2022 midterm election, with Voters voting for the governor and other major castes At more than 14,000 polling stations in five boroughs.
Voting began at 6 am and the voting percentage varied in some places. More than 400,000 New York City residents voted nine-day early voting period Which concluded on Sunday, November 6, and hundreds of thousands of other voters opted to cast absentee ballots by mail.

Two other statewide officials are also on the ballot: Democratic Attorney General Letitia James is seeking another four-year term in office against Republican Michael Henry, and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli wants to face a challenge from Republican Paul Rodriguez.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is also seeking a fifth term in the Senate. The Democratic stalwart is being challenged by Republican Joe Pinion.
All 26 congressional seats in New York State are also set to be grabbed. The 11th district to see two major races is in New York City, where new Republican congressman Nicole Malliotakis wants to hold her seat against Democrat, whom she defeated for office two years ago, Max Rose.

Voters are already reporting long lines — and technical issues — at some polling places in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, a site in Carroll Gardens was closed shortly after opening due to a problem with ballot generators.
